The completed construction project is located in the municipality of Tscherms, below Lebenberg Castle. It involves the conversion of an existing guesthouse and hotel into an apartment building over a construction period of five months. The project includes a total renovation of the entire building, resulting in 13 apartments, the installation of an elevator, and other internal modifications.
The existing attic was removed and rebuilt using timber construction with prefabricated elements. The central access core was supplemented with an elevator. The new attic extends approximately 1.5 meters to the edge of the balconies below and is connected to them by vertical struts. The rhythm of the vertical elements is defined by the position of the recessed open areas. The dark coloring of the wood stain gives the building an elegant appearance while allowing it to blend subtly with its surroundings.
